Moms, let’s face it…it’s hard to keep our children organized. I know this is my constant struggle with all my children but especially with my twelve year old DAUGHTER. It seems so odd to me for a little girl to be so unorganized. I mean girls usually love pink, smell good, have a clean room and neat, matching clothes, right? Lol wrong, I am so wrong about this!
My daughter has definitely proved this stereotype to be false. I’m okay with her not doing some of these things but some things I just can’t bend on and I think my fellow moms know which two things I’m talking about…loving pink and being organized of course! I’m kidding (kind of), I definitely want her to smell good and be organized. It wouldn’t hurt if she loved pink too.
This generation has many obstacles that are distracting them from staying on task. I have had to try different things to keep my girls focused and independent. I figured I’d share some of these things with you ladies in case you’re struggling with this issue. Below are some tips to help out.
2. Alarm Clock - It’s important for children to recognize that they have to get up when their alarm goes off and not always wait for mom and dad to wake them. What happens if mom and dad sleep in? Then no one gets up?! Or what about when they’re in high school and college? It’s important for children to learn these habits early on. This cute little clock beams different colors letting children know when it is time to wake up and stay sleep. I think it’s an adorable edition to any kids room and its helpful in becoming independent.
3. Smart Watch - I haven’t started using this yet but my therapist gave me this suggestion one day as I vented about the struggles of getting a tween to stay on task and I thought that this would be an excellent tool to use. One that she will like and be willing to use to stay organized. I’ll keep you ladies posted on how it works out. In the meantime, here are a few I liked most ranging from toddler to tween.
4. Closet Organizer - I’ve posted this organizer on my IG TV its a game changer. These cute and simple closet organizers help to keep the kids clothing and accessories in one organized place and they are able to get themselves ready for school from head to toe on their own. It’s simple but perfect.
5. Smart Home Speakers or Hubs - The google home has been a great addition to our home for starting our days (or ending them). Sometimes I set the alarms to wake the girls up without having to get up and yell for them to get up. The alarm sounds and plays either the news or songs. They enjoy the songs. It helps in getting them off to a good start when they hear one of their favorite songs playing. Then its those mornings where that doesn’t work and they yell for the google to stop and then I get to send a broadcast message waking them up. That usually works like a charm! lol Any smart home device would work, I just happen to have google homes and love them. Check it out below.
