Lets face it. It’s been rough lately, real rough. COVID has definitely stopped a lot of things but don’t let it stop the romance in your life. You have plenty of time together so why not spend it reconnecting? It’s been hard enough just getting through these hard times. Let’s not make it harder.

Well... it’s January! It’s time to set some goals up for yourself and your family! Here are a few things I try and do with my family every year. We did this over the weekend and it gets everyone engaged. Doesn’t matter how old your children are (mine are 4, 6 & 13) they can be responsible enough to set a goal for themselves and obtain it. Start them out early and it becomes a habit! Set your goals for yourself and sit down with your spouse and go over some relationship goals. Very important to communicate with your entire family on their goals. Makes everyone feel included.
Fire escape plans can sometimes be something that we put off. I know for me, during my childhood it wasn't discussed. The only time I can remember practicing fire safety was in school. Families don't usually think about having a solid fire safety plan in place just in case. Especially in the black community. We need to change that. It is important to have an escape plan should you ever find yourself in your home when a fire begins. It is most important to be sure that your children know exactly what to do if this ever happens. Creating an escape plan and practicing it can help keep you and your family stay alive.
Photo Credit: Anh Nguyen on Unsplash The joys of being a mother are innumerable, vast, and at times overwhelming. Do you remember that first moment you saw your newborn's little face? Or the first time your baby said “mama?” Pure, exquisite, unbounded joy! Motherhood is filled with countless moments of joy to perhaps last a lifetime and sometimes it’s just the smallest of things that make your heart swell with happiness. We are however living in unprecedented times. Many of us have never experienced anything of this nature before. There is the covid-19 pandemic coupled with racism and protests, these occurrences seem way too much to bear.
As we try and get accustomed to our "new normal" many people and businesses have offered their expertise and services to the world to view virtually. Below is a composed list of some virtual activities I have seen online or someone has shared with us. Most events are free, others are low priced. Take advantage and see a museum you have been dying to see, work on learning that instrument you've been dying to learn or unleash your creative self and dabble in some arts in crafts. I know things seem pretty rough right now but we can all find some positivity in it all. Check out the list below and enjoy your virtual classes or tours. If you have another fun activity to add to the list please share with us at info@fabulousmommys.com.
So we're a few weeks into quarantine and I think even the homebodies are getting a little stir crazy. It's not hard to stay in until someone actually tells you, you have to. We all have to find little things to keep us sane in this crazy world we're living in. A few things that may help are even more simple than you think.
DIY Parent hack for keeping your children entertained on a road trip - How to make a "Car Companion"3/15/2020 So I was looking for something to keep my kids occupied in the car besides their tablets and I came up with this “Car Companion” to entertain them. It’s a binder just loaded with some of their favorite things and activities that they can do in the car. They’re easy and customizable for each child. It’s the perfect companion for the car.
Moms, let’s face it…it’s hard to keep our children organized. I know this is my constant struggle with all my children but especially with my twelve year old DAUGHTER. It seems so odd to me for a little girl to be so unorganized. I mean girls usually love pink, smell good, have a clean room and neat, matching clothes, right? Lol wrong, I am so wrong about this!
